Sto Werkstatt on the move – physically and conceptually

“Our exhibitions at the previous premises in Woodbridge Street, Clerkenwell, London were always designed to catch the attention of the larger Architectural Studios and were focused on the support of their cross border, large scale projects”, says Amy Croft, curator of Sto Werkstatt. “A shift in focus of the central themes began last year with a series of talks and events by renowned Architects on the theme of materiality. Materiality is not just the appearance of a product, rather it encompasses the considerations and the detail that is part of the architects’ specification process.”

These processes and considerations are the essence of the Sto philosophy behind “building with conscience” and the brand values. This allows to enter into such discussions and shows not only the Sto product portfolio, promote technical competence and knowledge, but also to push Sto’s sustainability credentials into the foreground.

The amended website werkstatt.sto.com (still in progress) will compliment these themes and rounds off the concept.

Amy Croft: “Whilst we are now actively promoting our new premises as the ‘Sto International Project Support Hub’ – a resource for samples and materials in London, we will be offering interesting events, branded as ‘Sto Werkstatt presents…’ where we will continue to practice our company brand values directly with our construction partners: International architects and consultants.”
